Just west of London, Reading offers redbrick Victorian buildings, medieval ruins, and pretty waterside walks along the Thames River.

Explore London
Reading’s state-of-the-art train station provides fast and frequent services will whisk you to London Paddington, taking roughly 30 minutes, the train also stops at Waterloo station. Alternatively, the motorway will take you to the capital in just over an hour.

Reading Abbey
Commissioned by Henry I in 1121, the abbey is also his final resting place. Enjoy some of the beautiful architecture of the abbey as St. Laurence’s Church and the old Gateway still stand.

During your stroll through the streets of Reading you will encounter famous landmarks such as the Town Hall Complex, Reading Prison and Oscar Wilde, Abbey Ruins and The Kennet among others.
Forbury Gardens
Forbury Gardens is a charming Victorian town garden which have been restored to include most of its original features. The gardens are located between Reading town centre and the old ruins of the 11th century Reading Abbey. In our busy city Forbury Gardens provides a nice quiet reprieve with its surrounding walls encapsulating the garden. During the summer bands play live at the bandstand and you can grab a coffee or an ice-cream if the sun is out from the Kiosk during the summer.
Reading Museum
An award-winning museum, known as a unique venue for hosting exhibitions and conferences with the Museum & Town Hall’s period rooms. Throughout the year the Concert Hall regularly showcases classical music and comedy acts.
Madejski Stadium
Home to Reading FC who play in the Football League Championship and London Irish who play in the RFU Championship. With a capacity of over 24,000 this stadium provides a fantastic atmosphere on matchdays.
