Ending 2023 on a high – our Irish division has achieved Great Place to Work® Certification for a second year, in participation with Failte Ireland’s Employer Excellence Programme.
Speaking about the achievement, our CEO, Jim Murphy, said ‘We believe we have a positive ‘people-centred’ culture within the group and we work hard to nurture and maintain this. This award is a true reflection of the great efforts made by many people at all levels across the group who shape the work environment into a place where respect, credibility, fairness, camaraderie and pride can flourish. Of course, there is always room to improve, and we are listening keenly to the feedback given through the survey, completed by our team members, which may highlight opportunities for us to become an even better place to work.’
The Great Place to Work® survey measures both employee trust in management and employees’ feelings about their jobs and colleagues. In an innovative move Fáilte Ireland, Ireland’s National Tourism Development Authority, has teamed up with Great Place to Work®, to establish a three year ‘Employer Excellence Programme’. This programme will spotlight excellent employers within the hospitality and tourism sector and help to reposition the industry as a rewarding and attractive place to work.
Sarah Marr, our Group HR Manager, welcomes this initiative commenting that ‘the hospitality industry is often perceived as a less attractive place to work – but like every industry, there are employers who get it right most of the time and those who fall short of the mark. Hospitality and tourism careers can be incredibly fulfilling and engaging. I see this firsthand in PREM Group where so many of the team have progressed from junior roles into senior management positions – including many of us in the company leadership group. The Employer Excellence Programme is a great way of highlighting to job seekers and those considering their careers that Hospitality and Tourism businesses are great places to work. I’m absolutely delighted that we have improved our scores from year one of participating in the Great Place to Work® survey, and I am equally pleased to see that many industry competitors are also achieving Certification. This will hopefully provide Fáilte Ireland and the broader hospitality and tourism industry with a solid platform to support positive employer brand growth into the future.
